I bought this hat for a trip to Sicily as I knew we would be outside for hours at a time. I thought the extra wide brim and spf 50 would be just what I needed to protect my face from the sun. I ordered a size medium and when I first got it, had to cinch it a little in the back for a better fit. I thought it would look "geeky", but it is actually pretty cute! It was very hot in Sicily and this hat did not make my head feel hot and most importantly, didn't give me "hat hair"! When I wasn't wearing it, I could slide the hat down on my back. I think this will be a great beach hat and I also plan to wear it to kayak, garden and go for walks. It will give me better coverage than the typical baseball hat I usually wear! I am so happy that I found this hat!!

use to wear to work, hiking. Brim is a little big for wearing in the car or on windy days, but provides good coverage inthe sun. OR has gone to the string for adjusting size, which is faster, but doesn't provide as much security as the old style of an internal band secured by velcro. But I do love the hat!

This hat really shades out the hot sun and helps you stay cool. It's lightweight, breathable, and it packs well if you lay it flat in a suitcase. I'm really not a "hat person," but I need protection from the sun, and this hat not only works well but looks good, too.

I look stupid in any hat so style was not an issue. I need good protection from the sun and a hat that will stay on in the wind (beach, hiking, walking, etc). The light exterior makes it relatively cool in the sun and the dark underside cuts down on glare. It is a great shade hat and easy to pack.

I purchased this hat for a friend who purchased me a similar hat last year. I like this one better because it has a small flower embroidered on the back of the hat, which gives it a nice feminine touch. My friend loved it and said it fit perfectly. I ordered a medium for her because she is petite but has a lot of hair.

I bought this hat for travel (a safari) for the great price to keep from paying so much more for a Tilley hat. But after it came in, I really don't like the brim of this hat, and went ahead and bought the Tilley.

I wear this hat at the beach. The large brim provides good sun protection, but sometimes I feel like I must look like the flying nun! :-) Brim does not hold its shape as well as I expected it would after it gets wet, but since I wear it at the beach and in the water, that's not a huge problem. It is still a perfect beach hat for sun protection.

This hat was not only practical, but comfortable and very stylish. Everyone at the lake thought I was pretty cute! I love the adjustable strap/tie that keeps it secure so when the wind starts blowing the hat stays in place. Perfect for keeping those harmful rays away from my face without compromising style.
