Comments about Campmor Backpacker Cascade II Poncho - Regular: Well-made but no coverage of lower half of my arms. I'm 5'8" and normally built. I trek in cold wet weather with a smallish 15lb pack. This poncho covers most of me and the pack well, but leaves my arms uncovered from the elbow down, so I would have to wear a rain jacket under it. I already wear rain pants. If no hope of covering my arms with the poncho, might as well just wear rain jacket and pants and use a pack cover. So I returned the poncho.

Comments about Campmor Backpacker Cascade II Poncho - Regular: This was for my son, but after I've seen it, I may order another for myself. It's a practical idea that will only get more popular. Anyone can use a 3 mil garbage bag & Heavy Duty packaging tape and work it into some sort of pack cover, but who would want to, when the real deal is so cheap.

Comments about Campmor Backpacker Cascade II Poncho - Regular: I've only worn this twice. Both times I have been in a tropical forest on hot days. It kept me mostly dry and had good coverage. I especially like the hood because it actually stayed on my head. After 45 minutes of HARD rain I was damp. It was my impression that the dampness was rain water which leaked through the poncho, but it could have been the heat and humidity. It gets very hot in this poncho, but I am in 95 degree weather.

I am over 6 feet tall. How does the Backpacker Cascade II Poncho - Regular model compare with the Cascade II Poncho Long size? In general are the backpacker style models just longer in the back? Or are there differences in other ways in which this garment is cut to make it roomier to accomodate the backpack? If it is just the length, it seems that the Long size which is 102" long (which does not mention Backpacker) may be better for me than the Backpacker style, regular which is 92" long, correct?
