Comments about Ruffwear Bark N Boots Grip Trex: I bought these for my Lab and Catahoula Leopard Dog for use at the lake where the rocks are sharp. They do protect the feet from cuts. My dogs are REALLY active so the boots do twist from time to time, and the lab lost hers once or twice -- and they don't float. So, if you aren't in shallow clear water, beware. Pros

Comments about Ruffwear Bark N Boots Grip Trex: I purchased these Grip Trex for my 14 year old Irish Setter, she has started to knuckle on one foot when she walks (that means her foot is turning under and she is dragging the top of her foot on the ground). I put one of these shoes on that foot, carefully making sure that it faced the correct way, and she is back to walking properly without dragging that foot. They worked so well, I wish I had thought about this sooner. These are sturdy, well constructed and easy to put on. I would highly recommend them for pets in cold climates. Are these boots designed for dogs with wider paws (larger breeds), or do they truly work well for smaller dogs? We have a Jack Russell terrier, and the boots look like they would be too wide for his paws. Size is based on the width of the paw at the widest point with the dog putting full weight on the foot. reading the reviews on the manufacturers website, you will see that these work for many dogs but not for all. Some people do have problems with them turning around on the foot.
