Comments about Ruffwear Bark 'N Boots Polar Trex - 2011:

Thought this would be a great thing for my dog, an active 5 yr old golden who I take out in all weather conditions including snow. Measured her paws as instructed and ordered the correct size. I placed them on her, and on of the elastic cords easily fell off one of the boots when I was cinching it down, an obvious defect, but I tied it off and thought I would simply exchange them for a new one. However, I ended up returning the boots for a full refund because the boots would not stay on. After 3 different attempts on 3 different occasions taking the dog out with the boots, they would come off within minutes. This was with normal walking activity. This is a great idea, but at least with my experience, they did not stay on at all.

Comments about Ruffwear Bark 'N Boots Polar Trex - 2011:

The most important issue with these sturdy and well built dog boots is that they must fit properly. the first time I sized my dogs' paws I was one size off on each, which made a huge difference. Once I returned and replaced with a size smaller (each) they fit well and stayed on their paws. At first, just put them on for a short period of time (10-15 mins) and work up until the dog is used to them.

My wife and I tried repeatedly to use these boots on our dog. It was difficult to put them on, and once the boots were on, our dog would only take a few steps before off they came again.

Comments about Ruffwear Bark 'N Boots Polar Trex - 2011:

The product itself was made well and definitely sturdy. Unfortunately, the boot didn't stay on our dog. We were really hoping it would, as he's got sensitive feet that get chewed up with the snow and ice.

I need to buy my dog a boot with substantial cushioning. A corn on his paw makes it painful to walk (think pebble in a shoe). Does this boot provide the cushioning I'm looking for?

Second question regarding boots: My greyhound would fit a size small by width but his foot (including nails) is long: 4 inches. Would the size small boot be too short for his foot?
