Overall I really liked this product. It was easy to run and hike with. I like that it has a lot of give so if I dog pulls hard it doesn't just throw you off. I'm a big fan of Ruff Wear for dog products.

I use this leash while hiking the AT and other trails. It comes in handy when you need to shorten the lead quickly or restrian your pet for a minuet.

It's great to walk hand free with my dog.
But, the leash it's a bit too long, it goes under the leg of my dog when he is close (standard poodle).

What a wonderful product. I have been impressed with Ruffwear products. In fact, all but one of my leashes are Ruffwear manufactured. THIS leash has been such a wonderful answer to my needs. I have a young, big, and STRONG, yellow Lab who had been ripping my arm sockets, elbows, wrists, when we would go for a walk. (He's not fully trained and heel is not always on his mind. Yellow labs are known for their distractible natures.) I use a halter with him, however, I would STILL come back from a walk feeling beaten up.

THIS leash gave relief immediatly. The elastic is encased in a double layer of the nylon leash matereral so there's no worry of it coming loose and my pooch taking off. I can walk him close to me while he is behaving, but if he decides to stray, or bolt, the elastic gives my joints a break. Best dog product I've used! I will probably get another so I'll always have one handy.

The price is fair. This product should last a lifetime. The claw design clasp is super sturdy and easy to use for quick hook and unhook process. Well worth giving it a try. Particularly if you have a strong dog who strays on walkabouts.

I run 70-80+ miles a week, and Molly, my Rhodesian Ridgeback, joins me for about half of it. This thing is a Godsend. It keeps my hands free, but I can imagine that it would be a bit annoying if your dog wasn't well-behaved.

I've had mine for about eight months, and it's still in pretty great shape. The elastic has pretty much been stretched out to the point of being useless, but I don't feel like it really did anything to help the leash.

I've also used mine hiking and backpacking on trails where it's important to keep Molly close. It's been great!
