Comments about Kokatat Tempest Paddle Pants with Socks: Pants keep me warm and dry while kayak fishing in cold weather. I have been able to marry the pants up with a Kokatat splash top, but have not tested the seal between the two. Waiting for warmer water/weather.

Comments about Kokatat Tempest Paddle Pants with Socks: Got these for kayak fishing. I'm pairing them with NRS attack boots and so far so good. Thought they would be better than waders. Can't wait to get the jacket

Comments about Kokatat Tempest Paddle Pants with Socks: It has been great for launching kayak in cold water. But I haven't been able to test its water tightness with the Kokatat Tempest matching top. I purchased the set hoping that they would be a low-cost alternative to a full dry suit. I didn't want to spend $900 for the seldom occasion when I would actually be a ways off shore in cold water in adverse conditions. For that rare outing I'm hoping the Tempest pant and top will suffice though not being a completely dry suit. In the mean time I use these pants on local lakes and rivers.

Q:
Cotton socks were very damp after 4 hours kayak fishing. Wore water shoes and sat side saddle for awhile while fly fishing. Are booties waterproof? I bought pants last year and have used about 12 times.1 answer
A:
1. Cotton socks are inappropriate for water sports because they will not dry quickly.Q:
Most of the reviews are favorable, but a couple indicate that these are not fully waterproof, as in the seat got wet, or the socks allow water through. Are these simply quality control or damaged product issues? Im looking for an alternative to spending mucho $$$ on a dry or semi-dry suit, but I need to stay dry when mated with a semi-dry top (for instance the tempest paddle jacket, with the double skirt/neo attachment). Not for rolling, but if I take a wet exit and am in the drink while I get my paddle float inflated and set my paddle in the rigging, is water going to spill in through the waist? Does having the top on make water coming in less likely or make no difference?1 answer
A:
The fabric used for these pants and jackets is completely waterproof and seam sealed so you should not get any leakage coming through the material itself. Is it possible for the water to seep in around the waist and leg and arm openings, yes but the more secure you have the openings the less likely that is to happen. Certainly having the top and pant will make the whole thing more secure and having a one piece suit without an opening at the waist would do the best job of keeping you completely dry.Q:
I am a borderline M to L. Waist 34 inseam 30. Depending on what is worn beneath the pants, it is better to get extra room, What is typically worn beneath the pants?1 answer
A:
Size up to a L. This is your shell, so long underwear and another layer like a North Face TKA pant or a stretch polarfec pant in cold weather.Q:
On your XXL what size are the socks ? I have small feet size 9. Will they fit me.1 answer
A:
The socks would be too large. You may want to use a neoprene sock or bootie to keep the sock from moving around on you.Q:
I noticed that the kokatat Tempest Paddle Pants size listed that you have XXL . However the Kokatat size chart only goes to XL.1 answer
A:
XXL is available. Just select the color and you will be able to select an XXL.Q:
how can i get a pair with a relief zipper?2 answers
A:
These do not have a relief zipper. You would need to contact Kokatat.A:
