Great now, time will tell ...

... whether it outlasts the cane it's replacing. Measure twice cut once. You may want to finish the ends you have to cut to fit it to your canoe.
Too bad neither the original nor this replacement had eased edges on the inside of the frame, where the webbing/cane crosses the opening your butt will hang in. You can round them with your pocket knife.

Pros

  • Measure twice cut once

Cons

  • Could be lighter

Best Uses

  • Replace or upgrade

Comments about Mad River Canoe Web Canoe Seat 32 inch:

Bought these to upgrade the foam seats in my Radisson. Was just wide enough to fit the fronts. If you want your front seats further back, get the center seat instead of the regular.

The Mad River seat mounts are not meant to hang vertically on curved gunwales so I made my own, but it works great!

Almost what the doctor ordered.

Comments about Mad River Canoe Web Canoe Seat 32 inch:

Purchased for my Dagger 15. Since Mad River bought them I was hoping they would be a direct replacement. Pretty close just not a perfect fit front to back. Still a very nice product. Much more sturdy than the cane seats they are replacing.

We just screw the seat under the gunwale. WE did not need the Seat Truss. So simple to install!

great product, wrong size

Comments about Mad River Canoe Web Canoe Seat 32 inch:

This is a great canoe seat but unfortunately it was 3/4" too narrow to fit my current mounting system. I didn't want to drill more holes in my Dagger 16 Legend so I sadly returned the product. Buy these if they fit your boat's mounting system (9 1/4" wide) or you don't mind some new holes.

Pros

Cons

Comments about Mad River Canoe Web Canoe Seat 32 inch:

I bought 2 of these seats to replace broken cane seats in an old town camper, as they were far cheaper than old town brand replacement seats. Since they're not designed for old towns I had to drill new holes in the gunnels as these mad river seats are ~1" narrower than old town seats. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you're using these on a non-mad river canoe.

Will this fit my 16'Old Town Camper Canoe. I measured the seat from bolt to bolt. One side is 28 3/4 and the other is 25 3/4?
        Thanks

Yes, it would fit although it would have to be cut down a little to fit the Camper. It is designed to be custom fitted.

I am looking to buy a middle seat for my Mad River Canoe (a 16 footer) and want to know how I would install this seat. I am not replacing either of the web seats-just want a middle seat.

The 34" is the one you would want. Just make sure that the seat part will clear the gunwale. For the 34" seat the seat part measures 15.5"
