I X-Country ski and also whitewater kayak. I need something warm but breathable as I'm exerting myself a lot. I have just found merino wool much better than any polypro, and it doesn't stink. You pay more for merino wool but worth it.

I have been wearing Terramar Merino wool shirts for outdoor activities for several years. I love them. One caution: I usually wear a medium but found that due to slight shinage in the laundry, it was better to order large.

Great shirt overall and a great price for merino wool. Only complaint is that the sleeves fit really weird. The body is tight, but the arm holes up top are made for some sort of gorilla.

Comments about Terramar Thermawool Superfine Merino Wool Midweight Crew Shirt - Men's:

I use this in Florida Fall and Winter weather when outside. I do not consider cotton garments as they become soggy and do not dry. The Merino price is high and in this case you get what you pay for. Unlike polyester this garment will not get smelly after a few days use. Really!

Comments about Terramar Thermawool Superfine Merino Wool Midweight Crew Shirt - Men's:

As a heavy sweater, I am always looking for products that actually do wick the sweat up so that it can evaporate, thereby leaving you dry. Cotton is terrible, poly is not much better, the combo of silk and wool as the best I've found so far. But I still spend the majority of my hike damp and clammy. Not a perfect product, but better than anything else I've found.

I am a heavy sweater and am constantly in search of a product that does what poly claims to do, that is wick the moisture off your skin so that it evaporates. No matter whether it's cotton (the worst) or poly (slightly better) or this product, I still spend most of my day damp and clammy. It's just that with the wool and the silk underliner, I'm not AS damp and clammy. Pretty good product.
