The strap/string is indispensable on a breezy day, but easily tucked up into the hat when not needed. It provides a lot of shade with the brim turned down, but the paper straw fabric is flexible enough to turn up the brim when I want to see better. The straw is on the brim and the very top of the hat, and there is fabric around the crown to allow air to flow. I haven't tried packing it for a trip yet so I don't know how it will do, but it seems very crushable. Displaying review 1 |
