Comments about Astral Buoyancy Brewer Water Shoe - Men's: I've been wearing Brewers for the last 7 months both in a kayak and for everyday use. I admit that I am biased towards Astral products and have owned many over the years HOWEVER the Brewers are a huge step forward in terms of paddling footwear. On the river the Stealth outsole is hands down the stickest rubber that I've used to date...this gives me confidence in my footing when portaging and during rescue when there is no time for mistakes. The midsole cushions and protects, but my favorite aspect is that the heel and ball of the foot are on the same plane. This gives a really natural and predictable platform compared to other shoes I've owned. They drain really fast through holes in the side and rear flush port. Lastly the Cordura uppers are quite durable and airmesh at the vamp provides exceptional breathe-ability. Best part is they are stylie enough that I can wear them to my local pub after a day of charging on the local creeks.
Comments about Astral Buoyancy Brewer Water Shoe - Men's: I would not recomend these shoes for someone with narrow feet Pros

Comments about Astral Buoyancy Brewer Water Shoe - Men's: I just bought a pair of these as my 5 fingers just aren't cutting it when i have to drag my swimming butt out of the river. I have so many gashes on my legs from falling and once even down the road to the put in with my boat on my shoulder. SO...looking for something with more traction and I think these will fit the bill. They are substantial for a water shoe! But, my women's size 12's feel small in them. The mesh/cordura is pretty comfy and I think will add a bit of protection as well. I wore them all day at an amusement park and they were supportive enough to be in all day and helped me survive the log flume. The sole is all formed rubber and there is no insole to get stinky. I'm hoping the cordura cleans up well too as most of my river shoes just stink like river funk. Time will tell! I tried them on with my neoprene socks as well so I can wear them into cooler weather. I did not wear them on a long trip yet, however, I did put them on in my Jackson Superfun. They definitely take up more space than my 5 fingers so I will have to ease into that one. I have to mess with my happy feet to see if I can feel comfy on a quick exit. As long as I can feel like I won't get stuck getting out...these will be my go to river shoes! They are stylish enough to wear around town as well! Displaying reviews 1-3 |
