Comments about Wham-O Wham O 48 Inch Monda Air Tube:

For whatever reason, Wham O has spec'd a plastic for this tube that strikes me as particularly thin and brittle (or so it seems) at cold temps. An odd decision, given that this is a snow tube afterall. Not surprisingly then, after a handful of runs on the slope, one of our two snow tubes suffered a fairly large gash, likely due to some nefarious stick lurking beneath the snow. Attempts to patch it with the included patch kit have proven to be a joke; impossible. A 50% loss after one day of use. Not good. To be honest, my decision to buy this particular snow tube was price-driven. As with most things these days, you get what you pay for. If your snow tubing is reserved to a meticulously groomed lawn or hill, with narry a twig in sight, you may have better luck that we did with this model. However, if your snow tubing adventures take you to the typical backyard, you will likely need to pony up for a more durable product; this one likely won't last long.
