Not only has it been dropped many times, but even washed by accident at 95'C (almost boiling) for 2.5 hours with everything apart and it still works! Although it's not as bright as some competitors, it is light-weight, easy to use, and extremely durable. It's a good choice for backpacking, camping, and other night-time uses.

Q:
I bought this about 10 years ago and it finally quit working. I tried to change out the AAA batteries to fix it, but it was not easy to get in there. I put new batteries in and I finally got the light to come on but I have to keep them jammed in there with my thumb a certain way to get it to work, which won't work for me if it's on my head. Do the LED lights ever burn out or is this just some kind of battery problem.Asked on 5/4/2011 by Anonymous1 answer

You have a battery compartment problem the LED has a very long life. More than likely you may need to tweak the battery contacts to improve battery contact.Answered on 5/5/2011 by Steve from Campmor
