The mask sat pretty well on my face, and the water stayed out of my mask when I had it on correctly. Also, the fins are PERFECT for snorkeling because they are nice and short! The only part with which I had some minor difficulty was the purge valve. Rarely, a small amount of water was still stuck in the snorkel after purging, but that was quickly solved by bringing the bottom of my snorkel above the water.

This year we decided to purchase our own snorkel gear, the rental gear just grosses me out. After a lot of research we decided on US Divers, Diva for me and Admiral for him. What a great value! The fins were amazing on the corral reefs - great maneuverability! This was the first time we had full dry snorkels, amazing for snorkelers like us who LOVE to dive. The mask has amazing visibility, though men - remember to shave before diving! My boyfriend didn't shave one day and had a bit of an issue with slight leakage in the mask - he knows better, so please just remember this is not an issue with the mask!

I very much appreciated that the mask really keeps out the water and the tempered glass is very clear.....great to see through. The mouthpiece worked just fine and I was on my way in no time. Next I need to try the fins but I'm sure they'll be fine too.

No you do not need booties unless the water is cold and you need insulation on your feet. Another issue is that a bootie would take up too much room inside the fin so you would need to size up. This said if the fin does not fit your foot because it is too big for your feet, a bootie would take up this extra room to make it fit.Answered on 11/7/2011 by Steve from Campmor
