Traditional 21 inch Western Frame style snowshoe designed for those snowshoers that need a snowshoe that is bigger than a kid's size but smaller than an adult size. Similar to the features found on adult snowshoes, the Glacier includes a fully rotating toe cord for all day hiking, quick draw bindings that can fit larger winter boots, and carbon steel crampons for true traction on steeper slopes.
  • Ultra durable 6000 series aluminum Western frame design optimizes flotation and stability in powder snow conditions.
  • Rotating toe cord design allows snow to shed off the snowshoe deck, reducing fatigue, and also optimizes crampon penetration.
  • Easy-to-use and readily adjustable, the 2-buckle QuickDraw™ binding centers the heel for directional stability.
  • Carbon steel toe and heel crampons feature front and rear braking teeth for a secure grip uphill, downhill and side-hill in packed snow conditions.

Comments about Tubbs Glacier Snowshoe:

I bought a previous model of Tubbs Glacier in 2006 and used them since then for intense snowshoe running on trails. The last two years they worked as a backup for fancier Atlas racing snowshoes for non-ideal snow conditions(ice, bare spots etc.) Now my old Tubbs are beaten up but still usable, even though originally were not designed for a full-size adult - I am 6 ft/150 lbs. Last month I bought the new model and it looks even more durable - some weak spots from the old version, which are about to break now are re-designed and reinforced. It is a great product for the price. The only disadvantage is the bindings - I use duct tape to make sure they stay in place during long intense runs.

    Comments about Tubbs Glacier Snowshoe:

Bought them for my 5' 70# son who outgrew his 16" pair. They are a beast to get on and tighten around the toe. Hope it's not to cold for your bare hands when you're strapping these on for the first time. Heel is simple. Redeeming quality is that once snugged down, they didn't loosen. He didn't complain about the weight of the shoes. Float seemed average. Construction seems durable. Could do with a simpler binding for a youth snowshoe, but it builds character, right? Probably would've returned them if I had a better option, but this size/price range has limited choices.
