MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe - Men's

Item #: 71512

Our Price: $299.95

Yellow

MSR's most aggressive snowshoe can handle almost any winter terrain that comes it's way. Featuring Torsion2™ crampons, these snowshoes are built on a solid foundation of advanced 360 Traction™ frames and deliver a level of ultralight security that tubular frames simply can't?especially on traverses. Dual-component PosiLock™ AT bindings offer MSR's most secure attachment, while aggressive steel cross members and easily engaged Ergo™ Televators back you up with every step. Lightning Ascents offer the all-condition adaptability of our Modular Flotation tails for added floatation.
  • 360 Traction frames deliver edge-to-edge grip, and split teeth of Torsion2™ crampons better distribute forces and offer more continuous contact?delivering unmatched traction on any terrain, in any conditions.
  • Two-piece, independently conforming PosiLock™ AT bindings create our most secure, freeze-resistant attachment, regardless of footwear.
  • Ergo™ Televators reduce fatigue and increase traction on the steeps with an ergonomic design that engages with a simply flick of a pole grip.
  • Add-on Modular Flotation tails allow you the maneuverability of a smaller, primary snowshoe with the added, on-demand flotation of optional, 5-inch (13-cm) tails. (Campmor style # 71507)
  • Made in the USA

Comments about MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe - Men's:

These are great in all terrain. Good grip, the elevators are easy to use and aid in steeper ascents, the aggressive teeth bite well. Some people have had issues with the straps and even though they could be better, they work just fine. Have not had enough powder yet to test the 5" extensions.

            • None

Comments about MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe - Men's:

Poor material causes the crampon part to repeatedly break, then the frame rail that hold the crampon to the snow show cracked and feel off. I would avoid these. MSR has good customer service, but I've had to get parts for these and/or return them several times.

                A:

The MSR Lightning Ascent Men's Snowshoes can probably accomodate a Mens hiking boot in a medium width size 15. It might not fit any larger winter boot or wider width boot..
