All-terrain traction combines with MSR's super secure PosiLock™ AT bindings and energy-saving Televator™ heel lifts to let the Evo Ascent snowshoes take you anywhere you want (or need) to go in the snow. The rugged traction of our UniBody™ decks and Pivot™ Crampons deliver top-notch security, while Modular Flotation tails allow a single pair of snowshoes to provide flotation across a broad range of snow conditions.
  • Dimensions: 22.2 x 8.2 in. (56.4 cm x 20.8 cm)
  • Wt. 4 Lb per pair (1.8 kg)
  • Injection-molded polythyelene
  • Steel traction rails and brake bars molded directly into snowshoe decks provide a secure and lasting grip.
  • Two-piece, independently conforming PosiLock™ AT bindings create MSR's most secure, freeze-resistant attachment, regardless of footwear.
  • Televators™ (heel lift bars) reduce fatigue and increase traction on the steeps and engage easily with glove-friendly pull-tabs.
  • Modular Flotation tails (sold seperately), allow you the maneuverability of a smaller, primary snowshoe with the added, on-demand flotation of optional, 6-inch (15-cm) tails

Comments about MSR EVO Ascent Snowshoe:

My husband and I both have these now and we love them! We bought the kids version for our son. My husband leads trips for the AMC and has used these in all conditions and says they are superior to other snowshoes he has had and used in the past. He especially likes the heel lift for going uphill and the great traction for traversing.

Comments about MSR EVO Ascent Snowshoe:

Worked very well for a hard hike in powder & crust. Was still able to posthole down steep slope in powder. I might have to get the tails for when I carry my large pack. 5"10"/150lbs

A great product. The way that the snowshoe is hinged gives you lots of control, especially traversing a hill side.

        • Durable
        • Easy to use
        • Love the televator

        Cons

        • Not made for deep snow

        Best Uses

        • Ridges ice and hardpack

Comments about MSR EVO Ascent Snowshoe:

These are fantastic for most of my winter mountaineering - northeastern - very cold lots of ice and wind pack. I often use them when i would otherwise prefer to use crampons - but the traction on them works very well.

            A:

A person with a size 15 boot would need a larger snowshoe.

          Are these snowshoes one-size-fits-all?

          • Staff Reviewer

            A:

MSR EVO Ascent Snowshoe would accept a large boot. However in terms of flotation you may need to add a flotation tail so that the snow shoe would support heavier loads for bigger people.
