Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: I am a naturalist guide and lead groups of people on many snowshoe tours each winter. I have tried every snowshoe on the market and keep coming back to the MSR EVOs as the most superior snowshoe.
Pros

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: Use for day trekking and exercise. A nice product. Adding the tails for deeper snow makes the EVO's very versitile.

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: These are a great all purpose snowshoe. Their footprint is compact so it is easier to walk on trails that are narrow or have uneven terrain. They are incredibly light but durable. The binding is easy to use and stays put. The toe crampon and rails provide great traction.

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: I hike in the Dolomites in Northern Italy with these Snowshoes. The trails I use them on are a mixture of snow, ice and rock. Traction is outstanding and they stay put, even over the roughest terrain.

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: If you wear several different boots while snowshoeing or share the shoe with others consider this binding. The straps easily adjust to hold almost any shoe securely. The frame and deck are the same as the EVO tour and will get you around in any conditions. I expect many years of travel with this snowshoe.

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: My son has had one of these for years with no problems. They are a great item. You will need the extra flotation if you are carrying heavy loads.

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: We purchased these MSR EVOS with the matching tails.... we immediately sent them back and went with Eastland Artica Hike 30 snowshoes. The Easton Articas are far superior to these MSR EVO's in quality, ease of use and flotation.

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: Up until this winter season I have always rented or borrowed snowshoes, so I have had the opportunity to try out different MSR's. I favor the MSR women's 25" lightning shoes because of their more narrow width and lighter composition, but the EVO's are a great all purpose shoe with a friendlier price tag. They have performed well on packed and icy trails (they provided much needed traction on the ice that friends who had Tubbs struggled with) as well as in deeper powder during a trip to Mt. Rainer. I like a good burn, so I generally use them on trails with a fair amount of elevation gain. They are an easy on and off and feel firmly attached to your feet at all times.

Comments about MSR EVO Snowshoe: Easy on and off and very secure, my old pair always needed readjusting - these don't. Great traction on ice, haven't had any deep snow yet. Can't wait to see if they will float me - with tails. I'm no lightweight and bought these for lots of use in usually deep snow conditions.
