Used the book and Map to begin My section hike on the AT. The book starts in the north and goes south so it was a little difficult to go from the back of the book forward. The book does have a lot of good info on each trail section and shelters. The Map while good quality has no readable coordinates for older guys like myself and only has utm, not lat lon.

Overall I'm very pleased. The maps are waterproof plastic, and the guidebook is pocket sized. The only cons for me were: The guidebook is set up north-to-south, so if you're hiking south-to-north it gets a little cumbersome, and the distances in the guidebook don't always match the distances on the map, which don't always match the distances in the Thru-Hikers companion.
