Cons Best Uses Comments about Steripen Freedom Water Purifier: I got this for a trip in Tanzania, but ultimately didn't need to use it. I did experiment with it, though, and it was really simple and easy to use. The charge lasted the entire 2-week trip (granted I only used it a few times), and I didn't get sick from the water I sanitized with it. It's small, compact, lightweight and easy to pack. It'll be useful to add to my hurricane prep kit too. My only critique is that it has a flashlight feature that is (IMHO) unnecessary. Mine accidentally turned on while in my pack and wasted some of the battery charge. Pros

Comments about Steripen Freedom Water Purifier: I have used this hundreds of times now. I first purchased the adventurer but this is smaller and much easier to recharge. I am purchasing this device again! I would not hesitate for a moment. I've used it in the Rockies, Tetons, Yellowstone, Southern utah. So simple my oldest two kids quickly learned how to use it. This is flat out the best purifying system i have found, light weight, safe, fast. I carry two just incase one is dropped or quits but together it still only weighs 5.3 ounces which is less than 1/2 the weight of my sweetwater filter and a 1/3rd the weight of my MSR mini works.
