  • Q:

I am in the market for a child carrier but don't know which one I should purchase. I have a trip planned for Yellowstone and plan on hiking at state and national parks with my child. I live close to NYC so I might be inclined to use it for day trips there. I am torn between all 3 of the Deuter products. Any insight/help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

      A:

This pack will support a child up to 30 lbs. The larger packs will provide better support for the baby and better support for person carrying the child. My general feeling is that this pack is fine for limited uses around town, grocery store etc, but if I were to choose one for extended hikes I would want the larger pack with better suspension. The larger packs also have the frame that will stand up by itself so you can put the baby down in the pack and the pack will stay upright.
