Comments about Intex Downy Twin Airbed Air Mattress:

Have only used it indoors at this time. Plan to use it camping with Cub Scouts as I am finally getting old! My Therm-A-Rest is just not enough these days. (Will use Therm-A-Rest for backpacking) This Intex inflated easily with the car pump. Opened the valve and it deflated easily. Now I need a bag to carry the mattress and one for the pump. Will test both mattresses on Pack campout in April.

Comments about Intex Downy Twin Airbed Air Mattress:

I bought this air mattress for camping. In the past I've had several low cost air beds. Some of them lasted awhile, some did not.

What surprised me about this one was how quickly it inflated, and how it held the pressure without needing any boosters, even though it was fairly hot during the day, cooling a bit at night.

It is quite comfortable. Deflation is pretty easy as well, although I like to use the pump for the last little bit. I expect to hold on to this for awhile.

I used an old pump from a bargain mattress, with an adaptor that came with the kwick tek pump, bought here. Didn't feel like plugging that pump into 12v on my car.

The only complaint is that it does not come with a pump or have a good rechargeable pump option. It should at least come with common adaptors.

Other than the matter of the pump and pump adaptors, I like this item alot.

Comments about Intex Downy Twin Airbed Air Mattress:

I bought this mattress after having the valves on both my Colemans fail. The reviews of the new Coleman design were abysmal, so I took chance on this mattress. The valve design is very good and includes a check valve so you don't lose any air during the time the pump nozzle is off and the cap is back on. The valve body detaches to make a gaping hole for really quick deflation. I wish they would come up with a roll up system like the colemans have though.

Comments about Intex Downy Twin Airbed Air Mattress:

This was a gift for our daughter who is studying abroad and found that her bed in Germany resembles a rock. She was able to find a battery-operated inflator (wish such an inflator had been linked to this!) and is thrilled! Just what we needed for her. Small enough to take over in her luggage and easy to inflate, once we figured out what would work. Our vacuum doesn't have a reverse (that I could find) so we did have to get a separate inflator, but it wasn't expensive. Great shipping and arrived intact and in excellent condition.

Bought 5 Coleman airbeds from [@] they all developed leaks in from 3 days to one month!!!!! The leaks are from the circular welds they use on there beds splitting, and they can't be patched. To be fair to [@], they replaced each one but I still was without a bed for a couple days each time until I could get to [@] again to exchange. Finally gave up on Coleman and had to order this from Campmor online since no other stores in Cedartown, GA carry air beds. The Downy Twin Airbed Air Mattress solved my problem of a cheap temporary bed until I leave on the bicycle in the spring. By the looks of it I will be able to give this away and somebody else will get a lot more use out of it also!!Bicycling Bob

We use these for sleep overs and camping. It's always a matter of time before one doesn't hold up all night. These seem to to be better made and the valve system is easy to use.
