  • Q:

Hey there I was just wondering if this would be a good backpacking stove choice if I was going to do cold weather camping or mountaineering with it.

Although its possible by keeping the canister warm, the Jetboil Zip Personal Cooking System is a good backpacking stove for 3-season camping. An MSR Reactor or Jetboil SOL would be a better choice.

  • Q:

What is the difference between the Jetboil Zip and the Jetboil Flash? Features says weight does not include measuring cup? What is the measuring cup?

The major difference between the zip and the Flash is that the zip does not have the piezo lighter that the flash has. Additionally the pot is slightly taller in the flash verse the zip, though the volumes are the same.

Under 0 degrees F it is best to use liquid fuel stoves like the Whisterplite.
