The larger one is just as great as the smaller. I highly recommend this bag for travel, especially if you travel a lot.

Comments about The North Face Large Base Camp Duffel: I purchased this bag to use during our Mt. Kilimanjaro climb. The bag is durable, roomy and easy to carry thanks to all the straps. However, it rained every day of the climb, and water got inside my bag through the zipper seams. Fortunately I had everything separated into dry bags, so nothing got wet. True to the product description...it's only water resistant. So, if you need a waterproof bag this isn't it.

These bags are lifetime and superior to anything I have ever seen. I bought this one for my son as a Christmas - college gift. Now I get mine back!!! ****Highly recommended with years of expereince!!

The North Face Large Base Camp Duffel is made of water proof material, however the zipper is not water proof. The seams are not taped either so it would not be a good duffel for submersion. An example of a fully water proof duffel is the SealLine Widemouth Duffel 80 Liter
