I really wanted to love this backpack but it wasn't meant to be.

First let me say that it is well though out. In terms of functionality it has everything I want: shovel pocket, daisy chains, lots and lots of pockets. It is built like a rock. However, it is not designed for comfort. I have never seen padding this stiff. In fact, some climbing backpacks have better padding and more comfortable hip belt. It is not a light backpack either, so for the same weight as say gregory beltoro you get nothing in terms of comfort. Still the design is very functional, particularly for four season backpacking, I am sure some people will appreciate it.
