      Comments about Osprey Daylite Daypack:

I purchased this for easy day hikes when I don't need a water bladder - just a bottle of water for me and another for the dog.
This is a well thought out back with lots of little details. The harness is slightly padded with a breathable mesh backing, a slash pocket on the outside, front bungee, and two side compression straps.

It's very lightweight and was surprised it included both a chest and waist strap.

The description states 4 pockets but I only counted three. I would've liked another pocket inside the pack.

I got this bag a few years ago and it's still holding up. I use it for my daily bike commute. The elastic bands are great for rain gear. It's comfortable and stays put on my back with the waist and sternum straps.

              A:

The Osprey Daylite Daypack is not water proof. You can not submerge the pack without items inside the pack getting wet. As for torrential rains the items in the pack will probably get wet as well. If you are referring to light rain it is a very water resistant pack since it is top loading. The seams are not taped and the zippers will leak water.

Osprey Daylite daypack - There is back padding on this pack that will give you the protection you want . However , I would suggest you place your trowels in some protective sleeve to prevent damaging the
