Comments about Osprey Waypoint 65 Travel Pack: This pack was great for my three month trip across Europe and the Middle East. It held up well against sitting in water, sand-related wear and tear, and being tossed around in airplanes and train cargo holds.

Comments about Osprey Waypoint 65 Travel Pack: We haven't used this pack yet but first impressions are good. The only downside right now is the belt is not adjustable. Other packs are Velcro so they can be easy moved around for the best fit.

Comments about Osprey Waypoint 65 Travel Pack: The pack is bigger than I thought, but I'm not sure if that is a complaint. It is well built and full of useful features. I easily adjusted the suspension for my height and build. I love the detachable day pack. The only thing I wish was different is that access to the day pack is difficult when attached to the main pack. I guess that means plan ahead!

Comments about Osprey Waypoint 65 Travel Pack: I purchased this travel bag for a 10-14 day trip to Europe that included a business trip in Paris along with several train rides and biking along the way. The bag worked perfect as a back pack getting in and out taxis, trains, and airplanes. In addition, the small zip on day bag was perfect for my lap top and business needs. The bag held up well as a "checked" airline bag and met the under 50 lbs limit some airlines have when fully packed. Of course, I used the small bag as a check on piece. The extra features - water bottle holders, wet bag and side pockets worked great too. However, It doesn't feel or fit as well as a good back pack. I did consider that option but you would lose the small attached bag that I used for business and it was recommended that you also store the hiking back pack in a large duffle for airline travel. Thus I purchased the Travel bag instead. Overall, it was perfect for the trip and I would highly recommend it.

Q:
Will this meet the carry-on limit of 45 inches with the daypack removed. It seems like it probably gets to about 50 inches by itself. I am traveling internationally soon, and don't want to get hung up, but do want a comfortable bag that holds a lot, and I love my big osprey mountaineering pack.2 answers

Even without the daypack attached this bag would be over 45 inchesVERIFIED BUYER

I ALWAYS carry bags on and I fly at least once per week. That said, I hate this answer but I'd say it's 50/50. The bag would fit overhead especially on international flights. However, some airlines might stop you due to it's size. With the small bag detached and all the compression straps pulled tight I think you could get it through most guards. I haven't tried it yet. Worst case, it is made for checking.Q:
