I bought this because I was fed up with the cheap disposable camping chairs. I figured for $50+ it should hold together. Wrong again! Second time out the plastic fittings broke when I was sitting on it turning it it to a high priced stool. Campmor haven't answered my complaint either

if you have limited storage space in vehicle or home this chair is great. Very comfy, strong, folds to less than half the size of the average folding chair. Mesh fabric is a nice touch for warm days. It's heavy, not for backpacking, but even makes a nice chair for around the house. I'm using it as a desk chair right now.

I wanted a chair that was going to last. They last forever if you don't use them (which will be the case with this chair). We camp and raft about 4 months total (every day) per Year and got tired of throwing away drug store bag chairs every few months. This thing is heavy!!! Sand and grit make the telescoping parts stick. The back sits at too far of an angle back and the seat is too bucket shaped. Very uncomfortable!! If you lean back you feel like you are about to go over backwards. The cup holder will only work with a half full beverage without spilling because it sits at an angle too. Because of the wrap-around legs, you don't get as stable setting on uneven ground as you do with a four-leg chair. For the price, I am VERY disappointed!! I own a lot of GSI gear and it has always been top-notch. This chair is just plain poorly designed. My girlfriend opted to get the GSI Wilderness Recliner and it is real nice and very comfy but takes up too much room on the raft, would definitely recommend it for car camping though.

Excellent chair...I made a trip across America on my Harley and needed a chair as I was camping along the way. The chair packed small enough to fit in my T-Bag but was very sturdy and comforable.

Wish that they had not changed the basic design. Was more sturdy before. Telescoping legs are unnecessary on this model, except that it makes it smaller to ship and carry. Hard to find this model or the old highlander model anywhere.

We bought 3 for watching our children's soccer games. After about 10-15 trips to the soccer fields, the carry handle that attaches to the chair is ripping on one and the seat back material at the top of one posts has started to rip on another. For the price, I expected better. Would not buy again.

This is a heavy duty (9lb) chair that is a nice contrast to the cheap, mass merchandiser variety. It is very nicely constructed, easy to set-up (after a try or two), and the canvas covering is top notch. My one complaint is the depth of the seat. It promotes poor posture/slouching. A larger person would probably appreciate it, but I'm an average 5'10" male, and not overweight. I am probably going to sew or find a commercial pillow to attach to the back to try to decrease the depth a little. Other than that, it's a very nice chair that takes up little room. A carrying case would be nice for protection, but it's easily transported with the included handle. Recommended! GSI has great cookware too.

This chair is so far ahead of anything else on the market. Parents if you're dragging those bag chairs to your kids sporting events you're missing the boat. This chair will save your back and save tons of room in your trunk. One problem with this chair is you will be answering lots of questions about it from other parents. Like "Hay, where did you get that?" No Kidding!
