Comments about Camp Chef Portable Campfire Fire Ring: This is the best portable campfire. Not only is a compact and easy-to-use but it saves on firewood. Whenever I camp I buy several bundles of firewood, it usually totals at least $25. Now for less than $20 I can camp and have a campfire for several days using a propane tank instead.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Camp Chef Portable Campfire Fire Ring: Used last weekend in a no ground fire site and it was great. Even the neighbors next to us came over to enjoy. The gas lasted just fine.

Comments about Camp Chef Portable Campfire Fire Ring: My friends all laughed on this purchase, until they saw it work. Different story now. Instant heat in the morning. Nice campfire at night, even during fire closures or at music festivals. You will need a 20lb tank. My 10 lb tank won't push enough fuel to make it work right. (Follow the directions on the regulator!!!) A 20lb tank will last about three (4 hour) nights if you baby it along; full blast you can empty a 20lb tank in one night. We take along a bag of cedar chips or sage for that campfire smell, just add a half handfull every once in a while.

Comments about Camp Chef Portable Campfire Fire Ring: So glad for this fire pit. Our local car-camp ground does not have or allow fire rings but this little item was just perfect & saves us from renting one. Kids & I got to roast marshmallows, & it gave plenty of heat to ward off the mildly cool morning. I checked both compact & bulky because they both apply. The unit itself is pretty compact for a fire pit & the carring case is the best, but the 20lb tank of LP makes it bulky. This item is perfect for RV & car-camping & that's our style. One other con may be the 20lb/5 gal LP tank requirement. I had to actually buy a tank as I could only find 15lb tanks for rent in my area. I don't know if one could get away w/a smaller tank as I know nothing about LP but I tend to follow the manufacturers instr anyway. And, since I bought it, I would not be will to exchange my tank for a rented one, though I couldn't do it even if I wanted to. Luckily, I found one gas station in my area that could fill the tank for me. The tank & where to get it filled really required some prelim research in my smalltown.

Comments about Camp Chef Portable Campfire Fire Ring: We had a great time camping in the Colorado Rockies during a burn ban thanks to this fire pit. The Ranger stopped by our first night and was so impressed he requested the manufacturer's information so that he could order one for his personal use. He informed us that out of the 349 camp sites under his office's supervision, we were the only people enjoying a legal camp fire that weekend! Good size flame, nice portability, and we get several nights of fire with a five gal propane bottle. Great product!

Comments about Camp Chef Portable Campfire Fire Ring: We were able to have a campfire even though our National Forset was closed to wood and charcole fires.
