They work just fine and are much better quality than the originals. My only concern is that the piece of wire Eureka supplies to allow you to fish the shock cord through the poles is bent into a springy U shape and is needle sharp on one end. Yes, I stuck myself with it, after thinking, "Watch out for that, you could stick yourself with it."

For the price paid, one would expect a complete replacement pole of the same dimensions as the broken pole.

Diameter: One small caveat: the instructions say to tape the shock cord to the wire for threading through the fiber-glass pole sections. That doesn't work. The taped cord+wire is too thick to pass through the little axial hole of the pole. I used a needle and thread to attach the shock cord to the wire. Bingo!

The kits do the job, but one of the kits had a pole that was too small for what was ordered. Eureka should be be a little bit more careful on the quality control.

The pole is a bit heavier than the original, hopefully a bit stronger as well, time will tell. His tent wasn't one of the ones listed, but it fit well and I had no problems making the repair.

If you have a high-speed fine tooth saw that would be best to cut the fiberglass end...You might want to tape the end that you're cutting to help minimize splintering.Answered on 9/6/2011 by Bob from Campmor

Merchant response: Since one end is fiberglass, you can use a hack saw to cut to the section length you need. Piece into the pole set and re shock cord with enclosed shock core.
