I have tried several different firestarters. I have not been impressed with any of them. Most of them work ok (like the Light My Fire Scout). This little jewel started a fire with only one strike! I was amazed! It throws off a ton of sparks. Anyone can light a fire with the Ultimate Survival StrikeForce.

Just a side note, it does not come with the Wetfire Tinder. My advise, don't purchase the expensive Wetfire Tinder, you can pack lint from your dryer vent into the holder and use that for fuel. It works great and it is free! If you are dead set on the Wetfire Tinder, then I would suggest buying the Weber Firestarter Cubes. They are much cheaper and they are made out of the same stuff.

Needless to say, I will be buying another one of these firestarters for my husband. He is going to give his Light My Fire Scout to the DAV because it pales in comparison to the Ultimate Survival StrikeForce.

This product works great in all temperatures. I did notice that it tended to stop sparking after constant use. Even with that it started to spark again after giving it a rest. All the younger boys in my Boy Scout troop enjoyed using it and constantly were asking me to "see it".

I purchased this firestarter and another firestarter at the same time. I tried to use the "other" firestarter first and then tried this firestarter. This was night and day better. This starter shoots a shower of very intense sparks that have started 5 out of 5 fires in various conditions. I can't imagine anything other than a lighter or match being better at starting a fire.

Not the smallest firestarter around but the best in my opinion. The size is worth the performance. Plenty of sparks, comes with a striker, you can add tinder in the small compartment, worth every penny.

Great for lighting a gas stove but I wouldn't want to carry it across mountains.

Great spark generator for starting a fire with appropriate materials (dry, fine forest kindling or dry steel wool & vaseline), ie practice before going out. A fire will save your life, you do well to learn this art.
