Comments about JanSport Klamath 75 Internal Frame Pack:

I've used my pack on 3 multi-day trips so far. Two on the AT and one short trail/camping trip. Absolutely no issues with fabric or zippers. In fact, the zipper pulls have a special tab which aids opening in wet or cold weather. The only down side is the bag compartment. It is large, but you need a highly compressible sleeping bag to fit. Side pockets hold lots of accessories and the larger mesh pockets easily hold large H2O bottles. 4.5 stars if that were an option.

Comments about JanSport Klamath 75 Internal Frame Pack:

I used this product for a 10 day trip on the John Muir. The bag was a little to narrow to hold my minimal gear and "Bear Can" required for the Yosemite section of the JMT. The pack performed well overall. The material on the inside of the sleeping bag compartment has torn with in three days of using it. I suspect the material was compromised by the backsheet Jansport uses for their internal frame. The only thing I put in that compartment was my soft comfortable sleeping. Also the stitching on the Jansport bag began to separate, showing the threads.

Comments about JanSport Klamath 75 Internal Frame Pack:

For travel, I needed something larger than my Jansport day pack. I've had my Jansport for over 12 years, and I knew I wanted to stick with that brand when looking for something larger. I was a little disappointed to see that the Klamath 75 was rated so low on Campmor, but further inspections seemed like the reviewer selected the wrong size. So I decided to just buy it and try it out myself.

I needed the pack for a specific purpose: camping in Europe. This means that I needed to fit a sleeping mat, sleeping bag, tent, clothes, and provisions _within_ the pack, so that everything would be safe while the bag was tossed around airport baggage handling. I'm happy to report that it all fit and the pack survived the trip.

My load was bulky, but pretty light. I'm unsure how comfortable this pack would be with a full heavy load, but for me (I'm 5'10") it was pretty comfortable.

The price is good, styling is nice (not nearly as ugly as the photo!), and construction seems ok. I'm curious to see how it will hold up after a few dozen flights. For the capacity, the pack is pretty light, but I am a little worried that the thinness of the material will result in reduced durability.

Comments about JanSport Klamath 75 Internal Frame Pack:

I took this pack to Haiti for 2 weeks and just finished a 90 mile hike in New Mexico. I found this pack to be very comfortable and plenty roomy. I had to trade half way through with someone who was carrying a Kelty RedCloud that did not fit well. I found the Jansport pack to be much much more comfortable.

Comments about JanSport Klamath 75 Internal Frame Pack:

Wearing this product was torture. I bought this bag because it was adjustable, but it is adjustable if you are a tall person, not someone who is 5'3". The metal stay/support dug into my tailbone causing me terrible pain on a recent climb up Rainier. Even adjusted for the shortest setting the weight was still being carried on my shoulders and not on my hips. The only reason why I didn't have to come off the mountain is because a taller individual on my climb offered to switch packs. I had been in tears, she was just in a good deal of pain. Our guide offered to give me a container of gas to set it aflame once we got back to ground.

          • Q:

I have an external frame JanSport that I got a good deal on, that I like. There are 2 problems with it however, one is that the side bags have to be strapped to each other to prevent them from flopping around. The other is the water bladder compartment sits right against your back and is impossible to use. Where is the water bladder compartment on this bag? Thanks,

The hydration pocket is on the interior wall of the main compartment.
