Comments about Yakima BoatLoader: I always worried about loading my canoe on top of my truck-especially by myself. I didn't like the thoughts of what damage could occur if the canoe got away from me while placing it up on the rack. I was somewhat skeptical about this product when I first read about it. After watching on-line videos of its' use, and reading numerous, very good reviews, I decided to give it a try.

Comments about Yakima BoatLoader: despite the suggestion in the manual, for loading kayaks, best installed on the rear cross bar not the front because typically the heavier end is the stern. If you view youtube demos of this product, you see it's installed same as I state here.

Unfortunately the Boatloader will only work with a Yakima rack. You would need use the mounts for a factory rack to create a Yakima rack and then mount the boatloader to the Yakima rack.Answered on 7/6/2012 by Steve from Campmor
