Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Bike Roof Carrier: Used this on a 2,500 mile round trip through the mountains and my bike never moved. Highly recommended.

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Bike Roof Carrier: I've always used car roof racks, either for bikes or kayaks....
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Bike Roof Carrier: Installed Frontloader on my 2010 4Runner. Works nicely with my cyclocross bike. Once the knob is tightened, the bike is very secure. Should serve my bike transportation needs nicely as I can leave the rack on my car with the yakima locks and don't have to remove the front tire. Couple notes, though. This rack will not work straight out of the box on the latest designed 4Runners...which I didn't realize until I put it on my car. The rack is too long and interferes with the rear spoiler when you pop the tailgate. To fix, I simply sawed off a couple inches from the end and replaced the endcap. Took a little bit of work, but works fine now. Second, I like the idea behind the Highroller with the ratchet system. The Frontloader requires you to screw and unscrew the knob all the way for loading and unloading. Seems the ratchet system would make things much easier for loading and unloading. Pros

Best Uses Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Bike Roof Carrier: I compared roof bike carriers for awhile and ended up with this one. Sure glad I did because this thing is great! The installation is ultra-easy requiring no tools at all. In-fact, I only install it on my roof rack when I'm going to use it. If it were a pain to install or if it required tools, I'd have to leave it on my 4Runner all the time, which I don't want to do (air resistance, fitting in the garage, looks...). Installs in about a minute and a half. I have mine attached to a Gobi roof rack which has round crossbars built in for this kind of thing, but it looks like the rack would fit on most factory rails without any adapters.I use it for a mountain bike with 700x40C wheels and it keeps a real solid hold on it. I don't worry about it coming loose at all. Putting the bike in is easy and straightforward, too. It's nice not having to remove the wheel. Great product. My only gripe is the color scheme. I can't stand red on black! But that's just one guy's preference. No big deal. And by the way, Campmor is an awesome company. They [...]had the best price on the web. Would definitely order from them again.

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Bike Roof Carrier: We loved our first one so much we added another. They are quick to mount easy to get off and on. They don't make hardly any wind noise the the bikes out of them (in case you leave them on the car).

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Bike Roof Carrier: I love this carrier It fits on my factory Honda Pilot roof rack. I installed it and haven't looked back. It holds my mountain bike well and I like the fact that it can adjust to fit any bike I throw on it. I also put my kayak on the roof next to it and I could even carry 2 kayaks on their side along with a bike. This carrier doesn't make any audible sounds in the wind no matter how fast I drive. I like the fact that it leaves my rear cargo access door completely functional. I don't have to move a bike to put things in the back of the vehicle like a trunk/hitch mount carrier.
