Best Uses Comments about Yakima BigStack Kayak Holder: I have been kayaking since 1984. I have had the old school style stacker that I since 1994. When I bought a new car, I bought new racks and the Big Stackers. The big stackers are wobbly and cheesy. The clamp to the round bar is terrible. I would avoid this. I sent them back and went back to the old school stacker. Yakima, why did you change from a simple good design to a bloated terrible design that does not work?

Cons Best Uses Comments about Yakima BigStack Kayak Holder: This kayak rack works great. It holds the boats sturdily and yet easily folds out of the way when not in use. I'm also able to keep bike racks on at the same time without interference. Note that it comes with one set of 4 straps for one boat (including front and rear tie-down straps). For two whitewater boats, I had to purchase another set of two straps (front and rear tie down straps are unused on shorter whitewater boats). The Yakima heavy duty straps with the rubber coating on the buckle are worth the extra price to keep from chipping the car's paint when moving the straps around.

Comments about Yakima BigStack Kayak Holder: this is the best kayak rack out..especially for the price....it folds down low enough to get in the garage,and to even go through the car wash.ive had mine on the roof constantly for almost 2 years...i bought the additional lock cylinders to secure it to the roof rack.my 4 runner cross bars are pretty beefy too,and i have it set on the small diameter setting..there are tow other larger settings to get huge....so even the biggest bar this wil fit around.folded down there is no wind noise either,im serious these are the [*]
