  • Q:

I have heard on other reviews that this bag has a tendency to clump the down on the sides leaving the top portion exposed and down free? Has this been address in new models ?? thanks,

      A:

To start with the Thermarest blanket does not have a bottom. So the down can not travel from the top of the bag to the bottom, because there is no bottom. As for the end of the bag, the end is enclosed only around the feet. Otherwise the blanket is just over the top without a bottom. the down does shift left to right a little, however the down would not drain to the foot.

  • Q:

Will it work with all Thermarest pads, or only certain one(s)?

      A:

This down blanket will work with pads of relative size. A regular blanket would work best with a regular pad of 20" wide. A long blanket will work best with a pad of 25" wide. You would also need a snap-kit to attach if not already provided.

The Thermarest Fast & Light Tapered Sheets would work with the 35 Degree Down Blanket.

Are there male snaps on one side and female on the other so 2 can be joined? On mild nights I'd like to join them so my wife and I can just use them like a big blanket. thanks!

This down blanket is not designed to be "mateable". Two blankets can not be joined together.

  • Q:

What is the difference between the thermarest down blanket and the thermarest ventra comforter? The temp ratings seem very close, both snap together and to the fitted sheets...

      A:

The Ventra is a wider bag 40 degree rated while the Alpine is narrower and rated to 35 degrees.

Does it come with or is there a waterproof stuff sack
Asked on 3/15/2011 by upsprofessor from Frankfort IL

      A:

Comes with a stuff sack and the loose stuff size is 10" by 16". You can probably reduce the length by 1/2.
