Best Uses Comments about Blackburn Helmet Mirror: We've tried other helmet mirrors and this one is consistently the best. It is easily adjustable at two pivot points and stays put once you've adjusted it. Has minimum vibration while riding.

Comments about Blackburn Helmet Mirror: I was leery of this mirror after reading the other review, but I needed a mirror, liked the looks of this, the price was right, and I was ordering some other items so I went for it. I have to say that I found it to be a much better mirror than expected. Because of the short arm it must be positioned farther forward on the helmet than the one it replaced. I am glad the arm is as short as it is, I just wish it was more rigid. The road causes the arm to flex as you go fast, which makes the mirror bounce. The bouncing mirror produces a blurry image, which I believe would be even more pronounced if the arm was longer. If Blackburn would somehow stiffen up the arm it would be a big improvement.

This mirror is designed to work with or without stretchable helmet covers. The Helmet mirror has 4 components that snap together and 3 self adhesive discs. The pivot contains an internal set screw.
Mounting instructions:
Remove the backing paper from one side of a self adhesive disc. Carefully position the press the adhesive disc into place on the back of the mirror base.
If your helmet has a Lycra cover, remove it at this time. Select an area on your helmet that is relatively flat, smooth and clean. Next with the helmet on your head in a typical riding position carefully position the mirror on the left side of the helmet to reflect the rear you require. When you have the mirror positioned properly, remove the adhesive backing and press the assemble firmly onto the helmet. Additional self adhesive disc haven been included if a repeat effort becomes necessary.
If your helmet has a Lycra cover, the pivot can be snapped off the mirror base. the cover repositioned over the helmet and the pivot snapped back into the base with the helmet cover pinched between.
A set screw inside the pivot enables the arm to keep the mirror in your selected position. It may become necessary to tighten this screw with a 3mm allen wrench. Simply snap the pivot off the mirror base and tighten from the inside. Be careful Excessive tightening may strip the threads inside the pivot.Answered on 3/12/2012 by Steve from Campmor

Merchant response: Before installing the mirror, position the mirror on the helmet where you will have the best view. Anchor the mirror at this point.
