The only issue I have with them is that the velcro straps to tighten them around the ankle area does not close enough for me. This leaves a gap that ticks can get through. They are perfect for this purpose, and especially at this time of year (Spring), when the weather is changeable. The lightweight material is perfect for packing...they don't wrinkle, they roll up pretty small, they don't add weight to your baggage. He is very happy with them! Pros

During the winter they are perfect at southern beaches where it can be cool in the morning, requiring the bottoms, and then convert to shorts or swimwear as the temperature rises. Pros
