As the temperature drops, first the shoe covers, then add wool socks, and finally toe warmers. They kept my feet comfortable at 19 degrees F. I've only had them month so I can't speak to durability or rain resistance. Thanks Pearl iZumi!

But I rode 20 miles yesterday in high wind with temps in the low 20s. My water bottles & eyelashes froze but my feet were warm!

Comments about Pearl Izumi ELITE Barrier Road Cycling Shoe Cover: This shoe cover fits like a rubber glove and is well-made. Easy on and off with a continuous velcro back, but it seems a bit small for the sizing (this may depend on the actual shoe you're wearing too). The velcro seems like its detaching somewhat while you're walking or pedaling, but it remains solidly in place and doesn't come off. They're very effective down into the low 40s with some decent wool socks, but most likely would require extra insulation beyond that. Overall a great glove-like cover to keep your toes from going numb on colder days.
