Southbounders is the 1st fictional film about the Appalachian Trail and it is a good one. Olivia, much to her parents dismay decides to postpone Med school for a thru-hike on the 2170 mile Appalachian Trail. Join her as she hikes from Maine to Georgia (ME-GA) and see trail life as it really is. Along the way she meets 'Rollin', another SOBO hiker and the romance begins. With 'Slackpack' tagging along the 3 make their way down the trail. Southbounders is a very accurate portrayal of life on the trail. The director thru-hiked the trail himself and tried very hard to make this fictional account seem real. It worked. There is humor, good music, great scenery and a great ending in Southbounders. If you like the AT you will like this film. Starring - Amy Cale Peterson, Scott Speiser and Christopher McCutchen. Directed by Ben Wagner Jr. - Run Time - 1 Hours 26 min.1 Disc
