This exciting 2 DVD set takes you on a scenic and historic tour of state number 49, Alaska. With some of the last truly wild places on the continent this DVD explores America's last wildlife refuge. Spectacular and inspiring this is great for armchair exploraton or preparing for your own trip.

Program 1: The Great Parks of Alaska - Explore extraordinary natural wonders seen nowhere else in the world. Visit national parks, monuments, and preserves in a diverse land of glaciers, fjords, sand dunes, rivers and volcanoes. Journey through four distinct regions, including The Far North Artic Parklands (home of Eskimo), Gates of Artic, Kobuk Valley, and Bering Land Bridge. Southwestern Alaskan Parks include Katmai, Aniakchak, Lake Clark, and Kenai Fjords. Alaska's interior hosts Denali and Yukon Parks. And the Southeastern Panhandle boasts Glacier Bay, Misty Fjord, Wrangell-St. Elias. Uncover the story of the Klondike Gold Rush and Sitka as you encounter majestic wilderness treasures.

Program 2: America's Last Frontier: Alaska - Fifty-one million acres of Alaska's national parks preserve much of the history of our last frontier. Following caribou across the Bering Land Bridge, Ancient Siberians once migrated here. Relive the colorful stories of Russian trappers, gold seekers, and "The Forgotten War" and learn how William Seward purchased Alaska from Old Russia. From its fascinating past to its bustling present, Alaska continues to be an epic gateway.

Program 3: Wild Alaska - Challenged to exist through nature's four seasons, Alaska is a land where wildlife is at its most spectacular. Witness the many animals that have either vanished from the rest of the U.S. or are in serious decline. Here roam wolves, brown bears, grizzly bears, and near the Artic, approximately 3,000 polar bears. Observe the rare musk ox - a Great Ice Age survivor, as well as caribou, curly-haired Dall sheep, and Alaskan moose as they reside among Alaska's great landscape.
