Commute 17 miles daily in cold and wet weather. Soles allow enough walking to get into building. Perfect.

Be careful with sizing. The medium really does fit up to a 10.5. I have size 9 shoes and they are still a bit baggy.

After one commute with light rain I had just a small water spot on my shoe. We'll see how they hold up under heavier use.

Also, for those of you that have clipless shoes, there is NO CUTOUT on the bottom of these. You can affix your cleats on the outside of these by making small holes in the bottom but they do not come with a place for cleats.

What is the sole made of? It it durable? For bike commuting I would be making frequent stops and walk at least 100 yards when I get to work.

  The sole is made of a rubberized reinforcement. This is specifically for bike commuting so it is reinforced enough to handle stopping at lights walking 100 yards. What it is not designed for is to use it as a water proof cover for commuter walking. A better choice for walking commuters in wet conditions is the N.E.O.S Superlite Series Villager Overshoes.
