Comments about Amphipod Beltpod SmartView:

I like to have a cell phone on my long training runs just in case of emergencies. While I can fit the iPhone in the top pocket of the Amphipod Full-Tilt, I couldn't fit anything else (gel,etc.). Additionally, I love my iPhone and didn't like the way it was resting on the curve of the bottle. While I'm sure the iPhone is tough enough not to break in half, I didn't want to risk it.
The Beltpod was just what I needed. It threads on any belt 1.5-2" wide (there is another version (Micropack SmartView) that has a clamp flap to secure it to your shorts or belt...I don't trust it...as I said, I love my iPhone). It also has a divider that allow you to carry credit cards, key, etc. without scratching your phone. While you can wear it wherever you want on the belt, I kept it up front just on the side of the buckle. No bounce and it didn't get in the way of my armswing.
Now for my cons: I have my phone in an Otterbox Defender case and can fit it in the Beltpod, but it's a tight fit. Additionally, due to the zipper on top I don't know how water resistant it is. I keep my phone in a ziplock bag to avoid water/sweat damage, but it just adds to the bulk of the phone and makes it harder to squeeze it in the Beltpod. I haven't tried to attach earbuds to the iPhone while it was in the Beltpod, but from looking at it, is seems you would need earbuds with a 90 degree plug in order to fit it in the Beltpod.
Overall, I'm very pleased with it. It does what I bought it for and like being able to carry my iPhone with me on my runs.
