Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest RidgeRest Classic Cell Foam Pad Large: It was good for the kids, but not real comfortable for an above average sized adult. I did use one under my self-inflating and it made it even more comfie:)

Best Uses Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest RidgeRest Classic Cell Foam Pad Large: I am the kind of person who does lots of research on a product before purchasing. Most of the reviews said how comfortable this pad was. If you're used to sleeping on the rocky ground, then this might be called comfortable compared to that. If you're looking for something ACTUALLY comfortable, then keep looking. The sole purpose of this mat in my opinion is to provide a barrier between your body and the cold ground. Not comfortable at all.

Best Uses Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest RidgeRest Classic Cell Foam Pad Large: Not comfortable. I'm a light guy (135') and this wasn't enough padding. Less comfortable than even the ultralight inflatables.

Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest RidgeRest Classic Cell Foam Pad Large: I used to sleep on inflatable mats, but finally switched to closed-cell and am happy.

Q:
Is it padded enough to be comfortable on hard ground?1 answer
A:
This will be a stiff sleep. If you want a more cushioned sleep, you may want to look into a thermarest pad that is 1.5" thick or thicker.Q:
Is this to heavy for backpacking?2 answers
A:
It is lighter than most self inflating mattresses. It is bulkier when rolled up, but will not absorb moisture which is an advantage over a self inflating mattress.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
It is not heavy at all, but it is somewhat bulky.
