      Comments about Eureka Camping Cot:

Great product. I'm 6'3", 200 lbs., and it accommodated me with room to spare. I've canoe camped many times, and this cot is not made for portaging, due to it's weight and bulk. Consider it for car camping, though, as it is nice to sleep on, with an added mattress. Because the bed sits high off the floor, you can sit comfortably on it as well, as long as you have a tent with a high enough ceiling. (Our car camping tent has 6'3" ridge, but you could use this cot with something shorter. Remember the cot's length, though, to make sure it will fit your tent. This is a new purchase so I can't comment on durability, but it appears solid. Also it's nice to store your stuff underneath. One problem: tricky to set-up. My wife agrees with the above.

I bought this for scout camp. The cot is very comfortable. Practice setting up the cot several times before you use it. It was difficult to set up until I figured out the trick to setting it up and taking it down. It is well built and worth every penny that I paid for it.

at 6'3 225lbs. cots can run on the small side. not this beast, it is a keeper. true,it is heavy and it is bulky, no doubt. that said it is a solidly built piece of furniture. do yourself a favor and set it up a few times at home before hitting the campground. once you break the cross rails in the snap in place much easier.

Very easy to set up!! Love it. Comfortable. Will not fit in most tents because of the height, but makes a great portable bed. More comfortable than a couch, if you have a good sleeping bag...a couple blankets underneath you, and you're laughin'!!

Is it possible to use an air mattress with this cot?

            • Staff Reviewer

              A:

A traditional air mattress would be too wide for this cot causing it to be somewhat unstable. A narrower thermarest style mattress would work with it.
