You can just slip them on over your indoor shoes, they are water proof and the model we bought come up to just below the knee which makes them ideal for trudging trough snow. Warm and dry

My only complaint is that I wish they would go back to the older design that had reinforced 1 inch seam protection around the foot. I find that mine rip at the seams, especially the heel.

Comments about Neos N.E.O.S Superlite Series Trekker Overshoes: We took these on an expeditionary cruise trip to Alaska and they were perfect for wet landings, hiking through the muskeg and mud, and keeping your feet warm and dry while hiking up streams. We had better traction, comfort and warmth (due to the ability to wear your hiking boots inside these boots) than those who were wearing the "Alaskan tennis shoe" i.e. rubber boots. Even though they keep your whole leg dry up to the knee, they easily pack down into a very small light bundle in your suitcase. We originally made this purchase for travel, but now are thinking of numerous ways we can use these boots at home--walking the dog in rain or snow, shoveling the driveway in winter, crossing the creek to get to the best birdwatching, traveling to work in the winter and not having to carry your work shoes (disaster when you forget!). They are so easy to slip on and off that they may get more use than our Sorels this year!

Since Five Fingers are a summer warm weather shoe, adding these overshoes will not help keep your feet warm. Additionally there is very little tread, so on iced over sections of the trail you will slip and injure yourself. It is advisable to purchase an insulated winter boot with stiff enough sole so an ice creeper can be secured to it, as well as preventing frost bite.Answered on 10/24/2011 by Steve from Campmor
