Their ease of use and small packing requirements are major pluses. For icy conditions you may need to use a pull-on gripper over the sole. For extreme cold, upgrade to a overboots which have more insulation.

Comments about Neos N.E.O.S Superlite Series Villager Overshoes: These are a little more difficult to put on than the NEOS Trekkers that I've had for many years. Also, they don't snug up to my shoes quite as well as the Trekkers. However, I prefer the black color since for everyday wear this blends in better with the color of my jeans. Both the Villagers and the Trekkers keep my feet dry and warm.

My 24 year old son liked them so I gave them to my 3 adult sons for Christmas. The NEOS case is a great addition as it provides easy storage and a means to carry them anywhere.

The biggest problem is that Neos has an incorrect sizing chart (I've heard that from others now too) The boot that is supposed to fit a 9.5-11 doesn't even come close to fitting a size 10 show. Buyer beware. However, if you get the right size you will love them.
