Comments about Kelty Women's Backpacker Pad:

Overall a very good product. Bought it for my girlfriend but slept on it a few times myself. It was comfortable, even for me (I'm 5'11"), although we both felt like for some reason we needed an extra pillow compared to normal sleeping. It's pretty thick so very comfortable but as a result it's a tad bulky compared to my Thermarest, although I didn't try too hard to compress it. Nice that it comes with its own stuff sack.

Used it for 4 nights in the BWCA and it was the most comfortable pad I've ever used. Ordering another one for my daughter.

Comments about Kelty Women's Backpacker Pad:

We like the mattress but it does not really "self-inflate." Once you open the valve and leave it open a few minutes, it will inflate just a little bit. You have to finish blowing it up by mouth. If you do that, you will get a really nice two-inch cushion that is pretty comfortable. I compared this mattress to others in a camping store, and it seems to be better than most of the ones they carried. It's also very lightweight and easy to pack, and the lime green is a fun color!

How is this mattress stored? Is it rolled and snapped onto the bottom/top of a backpack, or does it fold down to be carried inside the backpack?

            A:

Store the mattress with the valve open so the foam core will not be overly compressed.
