Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest BaseCamp Large: I bought two of these for a summer canoe trip to replace traditional air mattress. So these are lighter and testing at home seems like the padding will be adequate for side sleeping, while not too bulky for portage. Will have to see.

Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest BaseCamp Large: I bought this roll for my first backpacking trip. I went in to the Gila wilderness the last week of winter. Temps were down to 32F with a windchill making it feel like 23F. The ground at both camp sites were rough, lightly rocky, cold and damp. Once I cleared all the large issues like branches and rocks. I was left with damp cold earth. The Basecamp was great. Once inflated I couldn't feel the uneven terrain below me. I weigh 250lbs and fully inflated the Basecamp kept me off the cold ground and very comfortable. It may not pack small, but that's not critical. All in all a great buy, worth every penny.

Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest BaseCamp Large: great product, the only things i wish it had are securing straps for when you pack it away, so it doesn't unravel and an included patch kit, just in case.

Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest BaseCamp Large: My husband and I used these pads tent camping (not backpacking) and loved them! My husband is 6'4" and weighs close to 200lbs- and was able to sleep comfortably (even on his side) for four nights without air leakage. We got the extra length which was also really beneficial. At 7000 feet it took about an hour to inflate, over inflating with a couple breaths really makes the difference too.

Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest BaseCamp Large: As I got a little older I realized the trusty Z-lite pad wasn't cutting it anymore. So I got the basecamp thermarest and wow what a difference! Very light and fits in the bag easily.
