Comments about The North Face Aleutian 1S 55 Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag:

I used this bag for an outing in the Adirondacks in early July. The temps dropped to the low 50's for several of the nights. I used sweat pants and a long sleeve shirt on the coldest nights, so I would say the temperature rating is pretty correct. Nice bag.

I bought two of these for my son and his wife. I personally own and use one. I appreciate the light weight and pack ability for summer camping in Boundary Waters and bicycle trips. Where space is a premium. Definitely not for cold weather. But that is just common sense. I also use a liner and adjust my clothes I sleep in accordingly. All and all a great product and great price

                                        A:

This sleeping bag has synthetic insulation, which would perform well in a wet climate if it gets wet. It will dry faster than a down-fill sleeping bag. The insulation will not clump up. If the bag gets too warm, we recommend zipping it open. You can also look at a sleeping bag liner with fast-wick properties to prevent sweat from ruining a night's sleep. Check out the Sea to Summit Coolmax Liner at http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___83046.

Yes, two bags can be joined but this would require one left side zipper and one right side zipper.

I plan to do a long term mission trip to Honduras. Is this a good sleeping bag for extremely warm weather?

The North Face Aleutian would hold up very well on your mission trip. It is well made and would not be too warm for the tropical climate you will be in. You may choose to sleep on top of the bag or in cooler weather it would provide a little warmth, like a blanket with a hood.
