Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad: This is a great pad -- if you use it like it's designed for. This pad should go underneath your standard sleeping pad for extra comfort or insulation during cold weather. Don't expect it to be wonderful by itself.

Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad: I'm into comfort when sleeping so I got this to use under my thermarest. It seems to help keep me warmer and did a good job minimizing the rock/root irritation that shows right through in a thermarest. Yes, I carry two sleeping pads now, for me it's worth it! The biggest challenge is getting the bulky thing strapped on the pack.

Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad: This pad was too bulky and didn't make the one-night backpacking trip. I've got a large pack and one of the Wentzel Hiker Tents which is super-small and a 40 degree sleeping bag. There was no way this pad would come close to fitting, especially in relation to what it offers. Pros

Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad: This pad was fine for week-end camping, but not for backpacking. Pad was too bulky.

Best Uses Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad: A coworker's brother is stationed in the mountains of Afghanistan. He was assembling a care package and his brother had mentioned in a note how hard it is to get comfortable on the rocky ground. I figured I was good for one thermarest or six of these. I bought one several years ago and cut it up for seat pads when backpacking, so I know the closed-cell foam doesn't absorb water. The material doesn't seem quite as rugged/robust, but it should be fine.
