Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad:

This is a great pad -- if you use it like it's designed for. This pad should go underneath your standard sleeping pad for extra comfort or insulation during cold weather. Don't expect it to be wonderful by itself.

Used recently on a camping trip to Canada. Lows in the 20s at night, but with this, my Thermarest foam pad, and a 15 degree bag, I was toasty and comfortable.

Yes, it is bulky, but unless you pay a lot for a premium inflatable, it's your best bet for extra warmth during cold weather.

Only con is that it does "dent" a little more readily than some other pads that I've seen in the same price range. Seems to rebound quickly enough, and as closed cell, it feels built to hold up for some time to come.

Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad:

I'm into comfort when sleeping so I got this to use under my thermarest. It seems to help keep me warmer and did a good job minimizing the rock/root irritation that shows right through in a thermarest. Yes, I carry two sleeping pads now, for me it's worth it! The biggest challenge is getting the bulky thing strapped on the pack.

Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad:

This pad was too bulky and didn't make the one-night backpacking trip. I've got a large pack and one of the Wentzel Hiker Tents which is super-small and a 40 degree sleeping bag. There was no way this pad would come close to fitting, especially in relation to what it offers.

It was comfortable to lay on though.

Comments about Texsport Pack-Lite Closed Cell Foam Pad:

A coworker's brother is stationed in the mountains of Afghanistan. He was assembling a care package and his brother had mentioned in a note how hard it is to get comfortable on the rocky ground. I figured I was good for one thermarest or six of these. I bought one several years ago and cut it up for seat pads when backpacking, so I know the closed-cell foam doesn't absorb water. The material doesn't seem quite as rugged/robust, but it should be fine.
